European Forum for Emerging Creation

For 12 years, Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes has been encouraging and supporting the professionalisation, exchange and networking of young artists, particularly through innovative artist-in-residency programmes. The European Forum for Emerging Creation forms the conclusion of the 6th map programme (mobility in art process), which offers new paths to the areas of production as well as co-production. Thus, it facilitates the young artists’ access to the European market.

As a useful supplementation to the already existing artists-in-residency programmes, the Forum integrates artists, representatives of cities taking part in the exchange-programme, public and private partners, representatives from the fields of art, science and literature, as well as the general public. This context allows young artists not only to reflect on topics nationally, but also to discuss them on an international level and to develop new, joint projects through the active exchange of ideas and knowledge.

The meeting of various artistic forms of expression, either as part of a "work in progress" or in the shape of co-operations set up for the Forum, will create new ideas and concepts. The most interesting projects will be presented to a larger audience and should above all encourage the representatives and organisations of the European cultural scene to support these activities. For this purpose, a "path" for the professionalisation and mobility of young European artists is being developed.

The Forum, which is addressing a Europe-wide audience of both experts and laymen, encourages a creative encounter and transfer of knowledge between artists from numerous countries. Through conferences, debates, discussions, workshops, shows and performances, new artistic developments and fruitful interactions of young artists will be presented to the public.
